Title: Graphic Designer
Commitment: 3 hours/week
Organization Overview:
Guided Roots is a Canadian grassroots organization on a mission to foster the emotional health of individuals & families and prevent family violence in the Muslim community. We are formed to conduct tailored research, advocacy, workshops, training, and support groups for Muslim communities and those who serve them.
Position:
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for creating motivating digital marketing content, including posters, banners, infographics, and 2-D animations to create community awareness on domestic violence and mental health. An ideal candidate is self-driven, creative, innovative and reliable, with a thorough knowledge and experience of design software to create influential and elegant designs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop creative designs and graphics for the organization’s website and marketing campaigns
- Use knowledge of the latest digital marketing trends and apply current advertising tactics to create designs and images
- Help design flyers and other promotional materials
- Plan and design web page components to make them user-friendly, informative and marketing focused
- Design and craft creative and professional digital marketing content, including white board animation, 2-D animation, infographics, blogs, flyers, banners to support campaigns
- Brainstorm ideas for areas of opportunity and improvement
- Any other related tasks assigned by the management
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Background in fine arts, graphic design or any other related field would be an asset
- Self-motivation, positivity and a drive to fulfil the organization’s mission
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva and/or other related software/apps
- Experience with 2-D Animation and White Board Animation software is an asset
- Advanced knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image
- Attention to detail and passion for creativity
- Ability to consistently produce professional-grade, creative, elegant and timely designs
- Good communication and time management skills
- Ability to work take constructive feedback and reproduce work independently
- Flexible work environment, can work remotely
