Overview
Guided Roots is a Canadian grassroots organization on a mission to foster the emotional health of individuals & families and prevent family violence in the Muslim community. We are formed to conduct tailored research, advocacy, workshops, training, and support groups for Muslim communities and those who serve them. We are looking for an experienced, creative, innovative and reliable individual, who can create motivating digital marketing content to create community awareness on domestic violence and mental health. You will be expected to come up with creative solutions, work independently with little oversight and meet tight deadlines. The job is remote and hours are flexible.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in creating and executing marketing strategies to promote organization’s campaigns and projects
- Assist in setting-up an automated CRM system
- Design and craft creative and professional digital marketing content, including white board animation, 2-D animation, infographics, blogs, flyers, banners to support campaigns
- Write effective and compelling content and script-writing that fits the campaign goals
- Find interesting and relevant topics that will generate viral growth
- Utilize Facebook ads, Google ads to optimize reach
- Assist in crafting, sourcing and curating content and communications across all social media platforms (paid and organic); Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube
- Develop and monitor social media targets; analyze marketing trends and provide updates on the results
- Any other duties assigned by the management related to social media and/or marketing
Job Requirements
- As par the requirement of the Canada Summer Job grant, to be eligible, the applicant must be:
- between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment; and
- a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment (cannot be an International student)
- Background in marketing or related field is preferred
In addition, the candidate should have:
- Self-motivation, positivity and a drive to fulfil the organization’s mission
- Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva and/or other related software/apps
- Experience with 2-D Animation and White Board Animation software
- Advanced knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image
- Experience with Hubspot or other CRM
- Excellent copy-writing skills and passion for creativity
- Ability to consistently produce professional-grade, creative, elegant and timely designs
- Good communication and time management skills
- Understanding of Google analytics, Facebook analytics
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work take constructive feedback and reproduce work independently
- Experience with WordPress/ HTML an asset
- Compelling story telling ability is an asset
- Knowledge and experience in marketing and online campaigns is a plus
