Organization Overview:
Guided Roots is a Canadian grassroots organization on a mission to foster the emotional health of individuals & families and prevent family violence in the Muslim community. We are formed to conduct tailored research, advocacy, workshops, training, and support groups for Muslim communities and those who serve them.
Position:
The Creative Writers at Guided Roots join their passion for social justice and story telling to enlighten hearts, one blog at a time. An ideal candidate is passionate, creative, original, and has a skillful command of words and grammar, who brings her passion for fighting social injustices and promoting emotional well-being to help create a better world.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to gather factual information and authentic details using appropriate references and transform it into effective and compelling content on a variety of topics
- Collaborate with the team to write scripts that fit the campaign goals
- Find interesting and relevant topics for the articles and blogs to generate viral growth by specifically focusing on the targeted audience
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Experience in creative writing, blogging, story telling or other related field
- Excellent writing skills and passion for creativity
- Excellent grasp of language and proof-reading skills
- Ability to work within set timelines and commitment to follow through
